   Homegoing celebration will be Saturday October 10, 2015 at 12 Noon from the Chestnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church near the Stayton and Rock Springs communities. Visitation with the family will begin on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Talley Cemetery. Bishop Moss, Pastor Wade and Pastor Sweatt will conducted the service. There will be no viewing prior to Saturday.
   Mrs. Sweatt, age 64, of Charlotte,TN died October 1, 2015 at Centennial Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
   She was born in Dickson County and was the daughter of the late John Douglas Bratton,Sr. and Alice Dee Collier Teasley. She was known by family and friends very affectionately as "Tiny" or "Nana". She was a former clerk with American General Insurance Co. Portia attended Tennessee State University for a short while prior to working with the insurance company.   Mrs. Sweatt was a lifelong member of the Chestnut Grove Freewill Baptist Church where she has served as Treasurer for many years and proudly served on the Mother Board.
   Survivors include her Husband of 40 years; Eugene Sweatt of Charlotte,TN, her son; Joesph Lamont Sweatt of Clarksville,TN, her daughter; Tonya Q. Sweatt (Darian Elliott) of Clarksville,TN, her Aunt; Lois Gean Collier, step-mother; Mrs. Ivadell Bratton,  her brothers; John Bratton, Jr. of Dickson,TN, George Wayne Teasley III of Michigan, Darrell Eugene Teasley of Oklahoma, her sisters; Cynthia Thomas Teasley of Nashville,TN and Felicia Teasley of Nashville,TN, Seven grandchildren, Eric Brodley, Demetria Russ, Joseph L. Sweatt Jr., Isaiah A. Sweatt, Faith H. Elliott, Olivia G. Sweatt, Zyrion Elliott and Tamika L. Elliott.  several nieces and nephews, brother in law; McKenzie Ray Sweatt of Charlotte,TN and Sister in law; Yvonne Spicer of Detroit, MI. and a host of many other relatives and friends.
   She was preceded in death by a daughter; Tamika Sweatt and a brother; Terry Teasley, her grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Lish (L.C.) and Mamie Collier, stepfather; George Teasley, Sr.
