Dickey, age 56 of Dickson,Tn died Sunday, May 22, 2016.
He was born in Germany, youngest of a swarm of young boys,  son of the late L. D. and Jewell Moore Burns. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Mike Haley, heaven just became a bit more rowdy.
Dickey was a former printing press operator with Quad Graphics. and retired from Quebecor-Quad Graphics, relishing the relationships and bonds he built there. But it was his relationship with his daughter where he truly shined. Whether rushing to school to rescue Kelly from a rumored riot or delivering a brand new 1997 Ford Range Ranger to her before he could drive--he made it his mission to protect and provide for her. That truck was white with orange stripes, a tribute to his beloved UT Vols.  Pop Pop's grandsons, Kenneth and Kyler were less aggravating than the VOLs and even more loved. He thought Kenneth wat "IT" and boasted about his accomplishments, off and on the golf course often.  When Kyler came along, nothing made him happier that to hear Kyler say "Pop Pop, where's Wuu/Lou?  Dickey was a gentle giant, a tall strong man with a caring, giving heart. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal. Saturday, Steve was talking about going to a George Jones and Johnny Cash concert. Little did we know, he was on his way to heaven to enjoy the concert. Dickey was a revolutionary tv sports buff, building his man cave and mastering the art of entertaining. He loved his road trips with his friends, Friday night golf scrambles and playing 31 at the Dickson Country Club.
He was a graduate of  Dickson County Senior High School, class of 1978 and later attended UT Martin via a golf scholarship. An athlete in his early years, he played baseball, basketball, football, bowling but always came back to golf. He was an avid golfer, UT Fan and faithful supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals.
He is survived by his daughter, Kelly Huffine and her husband, Brian of Dickson,TN; his two grandsons, Kenneth Wolfe and Kyler Huffine; his brother, Tom Haley of Dickson,TN; two nephews, Chris and Todd and three nieces Stephanie, Hollie and Stacey; and a very special four legged companion, Lou.  Last but not least a special group of his long time friends and  running buddies.
