   Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, September 11, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. James Wall officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with his family will be Saturday evening, September 10th from 4:00  p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday beginning at 12 noon until time of service.
   Mr. Johnson, age 68 of Dickson,TN died September 7, 2016 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center after a short stay.
   Those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
    He was born in Blue Island, IL son of the late Charles Edward and Betty Marie Bettenhausen Johnson. He attended Tinley Park Elementary School and Tinley Park High School in Illinois.  He also attended Thornton Junior College in Harvey, IL, Huron College in South Dakota and received his degree in Computer Networking at ITT.
    Richard was a large man with a large personality. He was a man of many talents, a lot of them self-taught and always wanted to share his talents with you. If you wanted to know about computers, you came to him. If you wanted your brakes fixed or some welding done, you came to him. If you need help developing a spreadsheet, he would show you how. If you needed a friend, he was there for you.  He was sometimes gruff and outspoken, but those who knew him knew he meant well and had a kind heart.  He loved life, lved his family and friends and most important he was a Christian who loved God. He will be greatly missed by a lot of people.
   Survivors include his wife,  Anna Sue Burks Johnson of Dickson,TN, his daughter, Becky Lewis and her husband, Chris of Dickson,TN, his four grandhchildren, Daniel Scarbrough of Dickson,TN, Mitchell Scarbrough of Alexandria, VA, Abbey Scarbrough of Nashville,TN  and Isaac Lewis of Dickson,TN, his sister, Nancy Fairchild and her husband, Virgil of Schaumburg, IL, Numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins in Tennessee and Illinois.
