     Funeral services will be Monday September 26, 2016 at 12 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Douglas O’Rear officiating. Place of rest will be in the Middle TN Veterans Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday September 25th from 2 to 8 PM.
     Mr. Vernon Roy Nash, Sr. age 68 of Dickson, TN known to some as “Rooster Roy” died Wednesday September 21, 2016. Born in Nashville, he was the son of the late Rome E. and Addie Pearl Smith Nash and was preceded in death by his daughter, Christine Michelle Nash and his brothers, Rome and Bobby Nash. He had worked at the former Schrader’s, at Goodwill as a Supervisor in the Donations Department, and at New Life Lodge. He was a U.S. Army veteran where he served during Vietnam and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Metal and was a member of the Oak Grove United Methodist Church.

     Survivors include his wife, Bessie Nash of Dickson; son, Vernon Roy Nash, Jr. “Bubba” (Pauline) of Dickson; daughter, Tonia Rochelle Goodman (Jeremy) of White Bluff; step-children, Joey Fortner (Tracy) of White Bluff, Rebecca Weeda of Dickson; mother of his children, Joyce Elaine Swaggerty Nash of Kingston Springs; brothers, Thomas Nash (Addie Bell) of Hohenwald, Kenneth Nash (Linda) of Nashville; sister, Shirley Jackson of Erin; chosen brother, Roger Knight (Linda) of Dickson; 8 grandchildren, Courtney Gwen Nash, Sidney Jolee Nash, Tyler Ryan Goodman, Jenna Elaine Goodman, Amber Bett, Katie Grove, Harmony Weeda, Christopher Ogle; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
