Funeral services for Thomas Lee “Tommy” Edmisson will be conducted Wednesday morning, October 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Paul Darety will officiate and Eric Edmisson will give a eulogy.  Place of rest will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Humphreys County. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 3, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. until time of service.  Pall Bearers will be Michael Ragland, Jeff Addison, Barrett Little, Bo Eakes, Casey Patrick, and Mark Holland.  Honorary Pall Bearers will be John Williams, Sidney Williams, Noah Edmisson, and Chase Edmisson.   For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Pomona Church of Christ

Tommy, age 84, of Dickson, TN died peacefully Sunday October 2, 2016 at his home surrounded by the love of his life, his wife and 4 children.  He was born July 15, 1932 in Dickson.  He attended Dickson High School and married his sweetheart, Delores Yates in 1950.  He entered the service and the U.S. Army deployed him overseas for 2 years.  During that time he served with Dwight D. Eisenhower’s Honor Guard in Paris, France.  After returning home from the service, Thomas and Delores made their home in Dickson, where all 4 children were born.  In 1963 his job was transferred and he moved his family to Philadelphia, MS and lived there for 15 years.  Daughters Deena and Mickie married Mississippi boys and remain living there.  Thomas, Delores, daughter, Jackie and son, Eric all moved back to Dickson, TN. 

Thomas had many talents, one being singing, especially with his wife, Delores.  He bought WDKN Radio Station in 1984 and started the Grand Ole Hatchery in 1988 where he would be every Saturday night picking and singing.

Thomas Edmisson was Grand Marshall of the 2002 Dickson County Old Timer’s Day Parade.  He also served on the Board of Cable Access Channels.  He and his wife were members and attended Philadelphia Church of Christ while living in Mississippi, and Pomona Church of Christ when they returned to Dickson, TN.   

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Delores Yates Edmisson; 4 children, Jackie Rhodes of Dickson, Deena Dansby and her husband, Steve of Philadelphia, MS, Mickie Williams and her husband, Sid of Philadelphia, MS, Eric Edmisson and his wife, Kim of Dickson;  4 sisters, Mildred Penoli of El Paso, TX, Betty Gilliam of Dickson, Peggy Anderson of Dickson, and Sandra Whittinghill of Dickson; 2 brothers, Douglas Edmisson of Dickson, and Kenneth Edmisson of Dickson; 12 grandchildren, Amber Reeves, Ashley Ragland and her husband, Michael, Arrah Addison and her husband, Jeff, Jill Rushing and her husband, TJ, Kelly Little and her husband, Barrett, Lindsey Eakes and her husband, Bo, John Williams and his wife, Michelle, Sidney Williams, Noah Edmisson, Chase Edmisson, Kaylee Edmisson, and Casey Patrick.  Great grandchildren are Hannah Ragland, Reed Ragland, Bailey Ragland, Tanner Addison, Avery Addison, Hutt Rushing, Kaiser Rushing, Wyatt Little, Laura Frances Eakes, Ace Eakes, Lelly Eakes, Calvin Williams.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
