   Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday morning, January 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Clarence DeLoach, Bro. George Caudill and Dr. Gaylan Brown will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Brown Family Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, January 17th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
   Those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
   Mrs. Shelton, age 86, of Dickson,TN  died peacefully in the early hours of January 15, 2017 at her home with her family by her side.
    She was born in Dickson County, daughter of the late Mark L. and Ora Lee Larkins Brown. In the early years she was a seamstress with the former Red Cap Industries.  A loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who always expressed love to those nearest and dearest.  She and her beloved Billy married August 21, 1948. They were 18 years of age and have worshipped at the Walnut Street Church of Christ for 65 years.
    Rowena was a gracious, elegant  Christian lady who wore that beauty her entire life.  She set an example to those who witnessed her loving,  compassionate and giving spirit.  Rowena always shared her beautiful smile to those around her.  She had a love and passion for  flowers, the beauty of them and tending to her garden,  and enjoyed every minute collecting pocket books, having one for every occasion.  
   Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Billy H. Shelton of Dickson,TN; her daugher, Beverly Shelton Seaton and her husband, Ron of Arlington, TN; her two grandchildren, Amy French and her husband, Cliff  of Memphis,TN and Kelly Karr and her husband, Micah of Arlington,TN; her two great grandhildren, Katie Karr and Clay Karr; her brother, Marshall Derwood Brown of Tullahoma, TN and her sister, Christine Steele, whom she loved very dearly, of Charlotte,TN.
