Born in Cheatham County, Jerry was the son of the late Dewey Preston and Annie Thelma Maxey Spann. When his country called him to duty, he proudly served in the U. S. Army. He was married to Ruby Nell Burchfield (Spann) who survives. Jerry had several “loves” in his life: Naturally, he loved all his family. He also loved the outdoors. When he was not working at his various construction jobs you could find him in the woods or on the riverbanks honing his rabbit hunting and fishing skills. A past-president of the Dickson County Beagle Club, he loved his beagle hounds and raised a Grand Champion. He was a friend to many and will be greatly missed.
