    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, January 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Dr. Mike Miller and Dr. Jim Chatham officiating. Place of rest will be  in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Thursday January 26th beginning at 11:00 a.m. until time of service. There will be a masonic service on Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
   Those desiring, memorials may be made to St. Judes.
   Mr. Johnson, known by family and friends as Larry, age 78, died peacefully Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Centennial Medical Center after a short stay.
   He was born October 31, 1938 in Davidson County, son of the late Samuel Hugo and Juanite Pinkelton Johnson.  He was a retired pipe fitter with Nashville Machine with 50 years of service.   He was a member of the Dickson Masonic Lodge #468 and a member of the First Baptist Church of Dickson,TN. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Johnson, his sister, Susan Bolin and his great granddaughter, Olivia Grace Moffitt.
   Larry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.  He loved his yard work, working in his garden and spending time in his workshop.  He had a good retirement, enjoying things that he loved to do, one of them was his daily trip to Shoneys of Dickson for breakfast.   Larry was a patient, kind spirited, hard working man who loved his family deeply.
   Survivors include his wife of 59 1/2 years, Ethel Poteete Johnson of Dickson,TN; his son, Brent Johnson and his wife, Karen of Dickson,TN; his daughters, Debbie Jonte and her husband Joseph of Dickson, TN,  and Donna Estes and her husband, Joe of Dickson,TN; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Pat) Caruthers, Brandi Olson, Joey Jonte, Amanda (JoJo) Peden, Laura Beth Estes, Alli Johnson and Alayna Johnson  all of Dickson,TN;  his great grandchildren; Mason Olson, Elli Olson, B.J. Peden, Karter Harrell and Madison Harrell; his step great granddaughter Madison Caruthers; his brothers, Bill Johnson of Joelton,TN, Jerry Johnson of Pleasant View, TN, Lewis Johnson of Nashville,.TN and Pat Johnson of Ashland City, TN. and a special pastor friend, Bro. Donnie Hutcheson of White Bluff, TN.
   Active casket bearers will be ; Joseph Jonte, Joe Estes, jRichard (Smiley) Greer, Troy Martin, Chris Stockman, Pat Caruthers, Dennis Howell and Ronnie Duke.  Honorary will be Tony Bales, JoJo Peden, Scott Jones, John Jones, German Poteete, Kenneth Atkins, Robert Mitchell, Steve Corbitt.
