    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, February 4, 2017 at 12 noon from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with the Rev. Donnie Craig as minister and Bird Armstrong to give his eulogy.  Visitation will be Friday, February 3rd from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with Masonic services  at 7:30 p.m. and visitation will continue on Satruday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Luther Family Cemetery.
   Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels or to the Al Menah Shrine Temple.
   Mr. Luther, age 81, died peacefully February 2, 2017 at his home with his family by his side.
   He was born in Dickson County, son of the late John Wesley and Dennie Irene Blanton Luther. He was married to the former Mary Ruth Sanker Luther who preceded him in death in 2011. He was also preceded in death was his son, Edward N. (Ed) Luther, his brothers and sisters, Floyd Luther, William (Bill) Luther, Bessie Buttrey, Freddie Lynn, Martha Tidwell and Walter Luther.
   Mr. Luther was a longtime self employed businessman being involved in many businesses.  He was a partner with his late brother, Walter in the former Luther's Texaco.  He owned the I-40 and 46 Market and was the owner of the former Luther's Tractor, the John Deere and Heston Dealerships here in Dickson.  His passion was his gardening and his specialty was raising tomatoes.  He loved giving away and sharing  the fruits of his labor.  He loved being a farmer and spending time on the family farm.  He was a man of strength and a man of his word who will be missed by his family and friends.
   He was a mason and member of the Dickson Masonic Lodge # 468 of Dickson, TN. He was a 65 year member.
Mr. Luther was of the Baptist faith.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army.
    He is survived by his daughter;  Charlotte A. Luther Armstrong and her husband, Bird of Dickson,TN; his son, Robert D. Luther and his wife, Leigh Ann of Dickson,TN; his two grandsons, David Luther and Brett Luther and his wife, Taylor, his three great grandchildren, Caleb Luther, Brady Luther, Ridley Luther; his sister, Dovie Qualls of Hickman County and several nieces and nephews.
