    Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday morning, April 11, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with his family and friends giving his eulogies. Visitation will be Monday evening, April 10th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. There will be a masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Monday evening.  Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Military honors will be observed at the end of his service.
   Mr. Grove, age 83, of Dickson,TN died peacefully April 8, 2017 at NHC of Dickson,TN.
   Known as "Shot"  by family and friends was born in Davidson County, he was the son of the late Joseph D. and Willie Mae Capehart Grove. He was a graduate of Charlotte High School, Class of 1952. Also a mason and a member of the Charlotte Masonic Lodge # 97.  He was a member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Janie, son, Jeff Grove, his sisters, Clara M. Webb, Lydia Marie Grove, and Helen Marie Grove Stender; and his brother, J. D. Grove, Jr.
   He was a longtime and colorful figure of law enforcement in Dickson County.  He served as Chief of Police for the City of Burns, Tn for some 27 years and also served as Mayor of Burns, TN for 18 years and was currently serving on the City Council for the past 6 years and as vice mayor for 4 years.  He worked for the Dickson County Sheriff's Department from 1972 until 1980. Also he was a Dickson County Constable for many years serving the 7th district.
   Shot proudly served his country in the United States Navy.  He served in the Navy for 20 years and in the Fleet Reserves for 10 years making his military career 30 years.  He was honorably discharged as Chief Yeoman. While in the service he worked on the Manhattan Project in the Marshall Islands in 1959 and in Los Alamos, NM.
   He is survived by his two sons; Daryl Lee "Rusty" Grove and his wife, Angie of Dickson, TN and Jason Grove of Dickson,TN, his two step daughters; Tammy Breeden and her husband, Eddie of Dickson,TN and Debbie Byrd and her husband, Rob of Ohio. His nine grandchildren, Amanda Hargrove, Jacob Hargrove, Payton Grove, Tucker Grove, Madison Grove, Emily Byrd, Lucas Byrd, Casey Grove, Coralee Grove. and his sister, Betty Ann Anderson of Bell Buckle, TN.
   Casket Bearers will be Casey Grove, Tucker Grove, Chad Williams, Ray Grove, Jacob Hargrove and Luke Byrd.
