    Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon, March 22,2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Rick Warren will officiate and with his longtime friend Jerry Yates giving his eulogy. Place of rest will be in Memory Gardens in Hickman County. Military honors will be observed at Taylor Funeral Home following services. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 21st from 2:00 p.m. until  8:00 p.m. and on Thursday, March 22nd beginning at 12 noon until time of service.
   Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society.
   Mr. Russell, age 77, of the Pinewood Community of Hickman County, died peacefully March 19, 2018 at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville, TN after a short stay.
   Born in Dickson County, he was the son of the late Joel  Everett and Daisy Waynick Russell.  He proudly served his country in the United States Navy with 20 years of service and later worked with the United States Postal Service and retired with 20 years of service.  He was a graduate of Hickman County High School, Class of 1958.  While serving in the Navy he was a heavy equipment operator.  He loved the outdoors and spent a lot of time fishing. He and his wife, Robbie, loved following the grandchildren in all of their sporting events. He was married to the former Robbie Capps for 48 years. He was preceded in death by his brother, Joel Lawrence Russell.  He was a lifelong member of the Kedron United Methodist Church.
   Survivors include his wife, Robbie, his daugher, Melody Russell Bryant and he husband, John; his son, Todd Russell; his five grandchildren, John Douglas Bryant, Kendal Bryant, Brody Russell, Reese Russell, and Carson Bryant; his sister, Ann Russell LeFevre; several nieces and nephews.
    Sammy Ferguson, Danny Ferguson, Don Breece, Larry Gordon, Troy Gilmer and Jerry Yates served as casket bearers.
