   Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday evening, June 20, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Dr. Roger Luther and his son, Robert Wetterau, will give personal eulogies. Visitation will be on Wednesday beginning at 3:00 p.m. until time of service.
   Mr. Wetterau, age 81, of Dickson, TN, died peacefully June 15, 2018, at his home. Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Gideons or to the charity of your choice.
   Mr. Wetterau was born in Washington Depot, Connecticut, son of the late Robert Henry and Helen Taylor Wetterau. He was of the Episcopalian faith. He was preceded in death by a grandson Stephan Turney. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was later recalled during the Cuban Missle Crisis.
   Mr. Wetterau had a love of collecting tractors; he had a collection of 100 antique garden tractors. Also, part of his collection included license plates; he collected some 8500 license plates from all over the world. By trade, he was a machinist. He earned his master machinist certification as an apprentice from Pratt Whitney Aircraft in Connecticut. He retired from the former Quebecor as a machinist with 17 years of service. It was said about Mr. Wetterau, “If it moved, he could operate it or repair it." He owned an antique hendy lathe; a copy of the same lathe that the Wright Brothers used to build the first airplane. He got his interest in being a machinist from his late great uncle, Major General Benjamin Foulois, who authored the book From Wright Brothers to Astronauts Memoirs and  as well as his late uncle Walter Taylor who owned a Lombard logging machine.He loved watching and feeding birds and squirrels.
    He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Dorothy Jean Luther Wetterau of Dickson, TN, his three children, Robert G. Wetterau and his wife, Debby of Dickson,TN, James E. (Jim) Wetterau and his wife, Sandra of Dickson,TN, and Pam Danley of Blountstown, FL., . Dr. Roger Luther and his wife, Lynne of Hendersonville, TN his 15 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren.
