     A Memorial Service is scheduled for 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 1, 2018, at Bellevue United Methodist Church, in Nashville, TN. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dave’s life.      David “Dave” Perry Fincher, beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and friend, of Burns, TN, was called home on June 2, 2018. Dave is survived by his wife, Barbara Roberts Fincher, of Burns, TN, their two children, Matthew David Fincher (Lauren) of Houston, TX, and Ashley Renee’ Fincher of Jefferson City, MO, one grandchild, Connor David Fincher, and Mother-in-Law, Faye B. Roberts (Birmingham, AL). He is preceded in death by his mother; Mattie Kemp Fincher, and Father-In-Law, Luther “Ray” Roberts.
     Dave was born on September 11, 1947, in Adamsville, Al. He served in the United States Army from 1967 through 1969. He then attended the University of Alabama, Birmingham, where he obtained a BS degree in Psychology. As a young man, growing up in a single parent home, Dave was able to excel from the challenges and work his way up throughout his career. He began working for U.S. Pipe & Foundry in 1969 as a Personnel Clerk and quickly moved up to an Employment Manager. His career kept excelling as he worked for companies such as: United Chair, National Standard and Joy Manufacturing as Human Resource Manager. In 1981 through 1983 Dave worked for Joy Manufacturing in Birmingham, AL and was moved to Marshall, TX, as Human Resource Manager. In 1983 he began working for Atlas Powder Company as Director Human Resources and later was made General Manager Aerospace Division. Dave was such a talented and creative person he changed careers in 1990 and became Vice President Specialty Products (Military and Defense) with Dyno Nobel through 1996. In 1996 he began his own company until he retired in 2013.
     In November 1978, Dave married his wife, Barbara. They would have celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary. He was a very loving and engaged with his family. He coached youth baseball, softball, basketball and soccer for both his children’s teams. In addition to his illustrious career, Dave always found time to help others and give back. He was a philanthropist of kindness. He served as an executive for United Way, was awarded for contribution to the first Gulf War with Dyno Nobel, mentored troubled young men who had lost direction in life, and served as Chairman of Trustees for Bellevue United Methodist Church, Nashville, TN, where he and wife are members.

     Among the greatest joys in Dave’s life was his love of Alabama “Roll Tide” football, fishing, hunting, boating and traveling with his wife. He loved and enjoyed anything to do with cars and could repair any machine. Besides being a “World Traveler” he enjoyed riding around in his Jeep with his two favorite dogs, Heddy and Cooper or back porch time with his Patti Cakes. Dave was a kind gentle man and loved his family dearly. He will be greatly missed.
