     Memorial services for Joseph Neal “Joe” Hafner will be Saturday July 21, 2018 at 12 Noon from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Saturday July 21st from 10 AM until time of service. For those desiring, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or to Haley Murphy’s Fund to purchase grave markers for the unmarked graves of children buried in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
     Joe Hafner, age 71 of Dickson, TN died Sunday July 15, 2018. Born in Dickson County, he was the son of the late John J. and Virginia Burgess Hafner and was preceded in death by his brother, Dan Hafner (Peggy); spouse, Betty Hafner; niece, Anita Blanks; nephew, Dale Murphy; great niece, Haley Dale Murphy. Joe was a retired Iron Worker from TVA. He loved fishing and Atlanta Braves Baseball and was a very competitive Rook Player. Joe was an avid Grill master and history buff and great story teller. He served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a veteran of the Vietnam era.

     Survivors include his sons, Joseph Neal “Joey” Hafner, II (Erin) of Dickson, TN, James Daniel “Danny” Hafner of Charlotte, TN; brothers, James Hafner (Sara) of Nashville, TN, Larry Hafner (Georgia) of Dickson, TN, Royce Hafner (Betty) of Dickson, TN; sisters, Elaine Brown (Edsel) of Dickson, TN, Katie Hafner (Buddy) of Dickson, TN; grandchildren, Natalie Hafner, Jadan Hafner, Justin Anderson; great granddaughter, Cora Hafner; special companion, Annie Wofford of Dickson, TN; aunt, Dorothy May Wooster, Michigan; uncle, Hugh Burgess, Dickson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
