     Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, September 2, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Bro. Tommy Boner will officiate with Eric Robinson delivering his eulogy. Place of rest will be in the Dickson Union Cemetery. Military honors will be observed. Visitation will be Saturday, September 1, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday beginning at 12 noon until time of service. 

    Ted died peacefully August 29, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. 

    Those desiring, memorials are suggested to Dickson County Humane Society or the 23rd Judicial Children Advocacy Center. 

      Ted came to America from Trzcianka, Poland at the age of 14. He was the son of the late Karol and Staniswala Garason Gorzny.  He graduated from LaSalle Senior High School in Niagara Falls, New York and completed his undergraduate and graduate studies at State University New York. Ted entered the United States Army in 1971 and was stationed at Yongsan Post Korea until his discharge in 1974. His travels took him to Honolulu, Hawaii for 12 years where he began his teaching career at the University of Hawaii. As destiny would see him out, he met his wife, Pat, in Honolulu in 1984, and they were married July 30, 1988. Dickson, Tennessee would become his home for the next 30 years where he would continue his teaching profession at Jackson Academy and McEwen High School. Ted was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed hiking, reading, and spending time with his family. 

   Pallbearers will be Dr. Jan Gorzny, Dr. Jerry Honea, Johnny Chandler, Jim Webb, Robin Hayes, Stan Garason, Bryan Head, Tommy Marvin, and Dr. Venk Mani. Honorary pallbearers are McEwen High School Faculty. Honorary pallbearers in absentia are Terrence Monroe, David Tamashiro, and Bert Peck. 

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Patricia Hamilton Gorzny of Dickson, TN; his daughter, Melissa Head and her husband, Bryan of Christiana, TN; his grandchildren, Haley and Kayla Head of Christiana, TN; his brother, Dr. Jan Gorzny and his wife, Lori of Dickson, TN; his nieces, Jennifer, Anna, and Margaret Gorzny of Dickson, TN and Stephanie Gorzny of Nashville, TN, and his beloved pets Quinn and SaraBella.
