     Funeral services will be Thursday September 13, 2018 at 12 PM from the Chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday September 12th from 4 to 8 PM and on Thursday from 10 AM until time of service.
     RL. Eugene Sweatt Nickname (Church) age 76 of Dickson, Tennessee quietly passed away on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville, TN.
     The life story of Eugene Sweatt, he was born in the Rock Springs Community in Dickson, Tennessee on June 16, 1942. He was the twelfth child of thirteen siblings. The family lived on a 120-acre farm in the northern portion of Dickson County. Eugene was stricken with Polio at the age of two, going through several surgery and braces enabled him to walk, but with considerable difficulty by the time reached adulthood. Eugene never let any of his disabilities stop him from achieving his life goals. He showed others that you can achieve anything you strive for he was tenacious about his goals. He attended Newport Elementary School and then went on to high school at Hampton High School where he studied house-wiring, plumbing, bricking laying and graduated May 13, 1964. It was Eugene life ambition to become an Architectural Engineer, that Prompted him to enter Vocational-Technical School in Dickson, Tennessee studying Drafting under Robert McMillian on the 21 June 1968 he graduated. To further his education in Architectural Engineer he also attended Tennessee State University, Nashville Tn., Austin Peay State University, Clarksville, Tn, and Nashville State Institution. Eugene was a successful Designer, Engineer for several major companies as follows Schrader Automotive Products E-Z Pak, Incorporated, American Fabricators, Incorporated, State of Tennessee 1986, Wright Industries.
     Eugene was preceded in death by his parents Eldridge Sweatt and Georgia (Dotson) Sweatt, his wife of 40 years Portia H. (Collier) Sweatt, his siblings, Robert L. Sweatt, Dennis Rostell Sweatt, Wille “Bill” Sweatt, Curtis Sweatt, Beth Ruth (Sweatt) Bridges, Hazel Sweatt, Clarence Edward Sweat, May Lillian (Sweatt) Talley, Loretta Sweatt, Harry L. “Willie” Sweatt, and Yonne Sweatt.

     He leaves his legacy and cherished memories to devoted children Joseph L. Sweatt (son), daughter n law Aislynn Jones, Tonya Q. (Sweatt) Elliott (daughter), son n law Darian L. Elliott, grandchildren: Eric Brodley, Brooklyn Palacios, Anna Palacios, Demetria Russ, Joseph L. Sweatt Jr, Isaiah A. Sweatt, Zyrion L. Elliott, Danny M. Newborn, Maddy C. Newborn, Faith H. Elliott, Olivia G. Sweatt, Tamika L. Elliott, (brother) McKinley R. Sweatt, brother n law’s : Jack Doyle, John Bratton, George Teasley, Daryl Teasley, sister in laws: Cynthia Thomas, Felica Teasley and abundance of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
