Peggy, age 89, of Nunnelly, TN died peacefully October 3, 2018, at Nashville Center for Rehab after a short stay.

She was born in Nashville, Tennessee on September 22, 1929, daughter of the late Eugene Basil and Pearl DeBusk Tidwell and was the widow of the late Clayton Gossett.  She was a graduate of Dickson County High School.  Peggy was a dedicated bookkeeper to the former Johnson Furniture Company in Centerville, TN for many, many years.  After the closing of the furniture store, she began a new chapter in her life working for the Hickman County Library and continued to work there for some 15 years.  She was a longtime member of the Fairfield Church of Christ in Centerville.

Peggy had many admirable qualities as a southern lady, and honesty was of one of her best attributes.  She was a devoted wife to Clayton during his life.  Only after his passing, did she begin to drive her own car. Clayton and Peggy had no children of their own, but they built many relationships with people that lasted their lifetime.  She loved caring for her cats and animals.

Survivors include her two sisters, Joyce Tidwell Davis Crawford of Nashville, TN and Betty Jo Tidwell Hewgley of Hendersonville, TN; her nieces, Joyce Coggins and her husband, Terry of Gallatin, TN and Kay Gossett of St. Louis, MO; her nephews, Randy West and his wife, Dianne of Hendersonville, TN and Larry Davis of Nashville, TN; her great-nieces, Maegan Davis of Lexington, Ky, Kim Brannan and her husband, Tim of White House, TN, and Tammy Sutton and her husband, Chris of Hendersonville, TN; special friends, Rita Beard and Sandra Harrington.
