 Funeral services and celebration of life services will be conducted Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m.  from the First Presbyterian Church in Dickson, TN with Dr. Chris Adams officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will gather for visitation on Monday evening, October 22, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday prior to funeral beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Those desiring, memorials are suggested to Mayson’s Place, White Bluff, TN or to the American Cancer Society.

Dottie, age 91, of Dickson, TN died peacefully at McKendree Village in Hermitage Thursday, October 18, 2018.

She was born in Smyth County, Virginia, daughter of the late Thomas Claiborne and Sarah Malissa Duncan Bishop.  She was the widow of the late Judge Lachlan “Lan” MacRae.  Dottie was the last of seven children and was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, William Greely Bishop, Hazel Virginia Edmiston, Aileen Duncan Bishop, Ruth Minerva Clark, James Thomas Bishop and Fred Rouse Bishop. She received her B.S from Mary Washington College, was a member of the VFW Auxillary and loved as long  as she could working the elections for the Dickson County Election Commission. Dottie was a self- employed bookkeeper and was a longtime employee with Morrison-Fuson Insurance Co. in Dickson,TN.  She was a lifelong member of the Mountain View United Methodist Church in Chilhowie, Virginia and attended for a long time the First Presbyterian Church of Dickson, TN. Dottie loved keeping up with the politics of the world and as they say “  she was not a member of any organized political party” she was a Republican.

Survivors include her four daughters; Amy MacRae Huffines and her husband, Dr. Ricky Huffines of Old Hickory, TN, Beth MacRae Woodall and her husband, Judge Tommy Woodall of Franklin, TN, Leslie MacRae Williams and her husband, Pike Williams of Franklin,TN and Sydney MacRae Kirby of Vienna, Virginia. Her grandchildren; Jennifer Huffines Gipson, Justin Lee Williams, Kelly Ann Huffines, Lauren Malissa Williams, Lindsay Williams Wilkinson, Parker Hodge, Alex Hodge, Meg Kirby, Nicholas Hodge, Jack Kirby, Talmage Woodall and Taylor Woodall. Her great grandchildren; Maddie Gipson and Anna Kate Gipson.
  Casket bearers will be Don Carter, Parker Hodge, Nicholas Hodge, Alex Hodge, Tim Gipson, Robert Rogan.
