Evelyn Lorene Fly Lee, age 86 of Dickson, passed away December 13, 2018 at NHC Dickson.  She was born December 11, 1932 in Nolensville, TN.  She was a member of the Dickson First United Methodist Church, loved to play cards with her friends and enjoyed spending time with family.

Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Hugh M. Lee, Jr.; her parents Willie Mae and James Stanley Fly of Nolensville, TN; her sister Faye (Cullum) Tucker of Smyrna, TN; her niece Jan Tucker of Smyrna, TN; and her daughter-in-law Barbara Hendrick Lee.  She is survived by her children Cindy (Foy) Gilliland, Scott (Bethany) Lee and Linda Lee; their children Chelsea (Stephen) Foust, Seth Gilliland, Grace Gilliland, Mary Lee, Elizabeth (Jedediah) Hanes, Scott Lee, Jr., Weston Philpot of Chandler, AZ and Lindsay Philpot of Oakland, TN; and her niece Sherrine (Andy) Warner of Smyrna, TN.

Mrs. Lee was a 1953 graduate of St. Thomas School of Nursing in Nashville.  She worked 10 years for Jackson Clinic and Goodlark Hospital as a surgical nurse, then 25 years in public health at the Dickson County Health Department.  She was promoted to Nursing Supervisor for Cheatham and Williamson County Health Departments and remained in that position until she retired in 1988.  During her time at the Health Department she worked with the March of Dimes, American Red Cross, served on the advisory committees for the Dickson County Board of Education and the Tennessee Department of Human Services, and as the Dickson County coordinator for the Healthy Children Initiative.  Her later years were spent assisting her husband at Lee’s Shoes, traveling with him and caring for her grandchildren.

Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 17th at Taylor Funeral home in Dickson with visitation Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. until time of service on the day of the funeral.  Mrs. Lee’s final resting place will be beside Hugh and other family members at Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Donations in her memory can be made to the Christian Life Center Capital Fund at Dickson First United Methodist Church.

Her family wishes to thank all the medical professionals at NHC for their compassionate care of Mrs. Lee during her stay there.d later.
