Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Peeler Kunzelman, age 87 of Americus, Georgia formerly of Dickson were conducted Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. James Duke III officiating. Place of rest is in the Dickson Union Cemetery. Kathleen a retired state employee died Thursday March 19, 2012 in Americus, Georgia. A native of Dickson County she was the daughter of the late L.L. and Marie Rumsey Peeler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Charles W. Kunzelman; her son, Charles Lee Kunzelman; and a sister, Wilma Duke. She married Charles Walter Kunzelman who became an ordained Methodist Minister and for the next 20 years they served a number of churches in Middle Tennessee as well as one church in Missouri. Mrs. Kunzelman retired with the State of Tennessee, and Nashville became her home for many years. She remained actively involved with the United Methodist Church and Board of Discipleship. In recent years she resided at Magnolia Manor in Americus, Georgia, which is affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Len Kunzelman of Fort Valley, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Reverend Steve Rasor of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Martha Ann Merritt of Columbia, TN; daughter-in-law, Susan Kunzelman of Hampstead, NC; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; one nephew and one niece.
