A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Carl Hooper officiating.  Place of rest will be in the Union Cemetery.  Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, 2019 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Frankie Lee Tummins, age 82 of Dickson, TN died on Monday, September 16, 2019 at NHC of Dickson, TN.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Frankie was born October 24, 1936 in Humphreys County, TN.  He was a son of the late Lonnie Delbert Tummins, Sr. and the late Rose Nell Watkins Tummins.  He was a graduate of McEwen High School, class of 1956.  Frankie loved sports, he played community league baseball with his comrades on Hurricane creek.  In 1958 he began working at Jack’s Sack’n Pack Grocery Store on 119 N. Main St. in Dickson, TN.  On August 27, 1960, he joined in marriage with Carlene Morgan, a love filled journey with his best friend that would last over 59 years.  In 1968 he became a partner/co-owner of Jack’s Sack’n Pack and remained so until its closing in 1979.  Frankie worked as a manager for Chappell’s Cee Bee on Main Street, which would later become Waychoff’s Cee Bee, as well as the Cee Bee store in Kingston Springs, TN.  He was a hard worker with a good sense of humor and enjoyed socializing with the customers.  Frankie entered the Masonic Lodge and achieved 50 years of membership.  He was a long time member of the Hurricane Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in McEwen, TN where he was ordained as a deacon in 1981 and served until his health declined.  In later years, he attended services at the United Free Will Baptist Church in Dickson, TN.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Betty Lou Tummins; his brothers, Walter Tummins, Lonnie “Bounce” Tummins Jr., and Freddie Tummins; sisters-in-law, Camille Tummins, and Imogene Tummins. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Carlene Tummins; his daughter, Terrie Tummins of Dickson, TN; his son, Philip Tummins (April) of Dickson, TN; his  grandsons, Grant and Oliver Tummins; his brothers, Tommy Tummins (Janice) of Dickson, TN, and Robert Tummins (Rhonda) of McEwen, TN; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
