 Visitation is planned for Thursday, October 10, 2019 between the hours of 12 Noon until 4:00 p.m.  Burial will be private in the Dickson Union Cemetery. Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Hilda, age 81, of Vanleer, TN, died Monday October 7, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center after a short stay.

She was born in Dickson County, daughter of the late Sterling Hubert and Verna Elizabeth Smith Nesbitt. She was educated in Dickson County schools and was a 1956 graduate of Dickson High School. She and her husband, Bob lived on the farm in Vanleer where she was born and delivered by the late Dr. W. A. Bell.

Hilda was a lovely, sweet spirited southern lady. She was an organizer and involved in so many causes in Dickson County.  She retired from the Dickson County Chamber of Commerce as Executive Secretary with  19 years of service. Hilda loved her Dickson County and spent many hours promoting her county. From Leadership Dickson County to Community Foundation to Character Counts and Education Edge. At the time of her retirement it was said... " Hilda is one of those people who can truly say at the end of the day, she has made a positive contrubution to our community and to the lives of many of our community. She deserves her time to relax and enjoy her family."

She and Bob loved old antique cars and loved traveling on car tours.  They traveled all over the country and have had a fun retirement.  She was a great seamstress who loved sewing and quilt making.  She produced beautiful pieces of art and loved spending time gardening.  Hilda loved cooking and a favorite of her family was her chocolate pie.  She was a loving wife, mother, memaw, grand-memaw and great me-maw.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Bob Sullivan of Vanleer, TN, her son; Bobby Frank Sullivan and wife Lisa Ann of Adams, TN, her daughter; Linda Sullivan Zanger and her husband, Joe of White House, TN, her grandchildren; Greg Justus, Clare Zanger, Nicholas Zanger, Sarah Grace Davis, and Zachary Davis, her great grandson, Evan Justus, her sister; Patricia (Pat) Semore and her husband, Wayne of Greenbrier, TN and her half- sister, Pam Baker of Bellevue, TN.
