Dorothy, age 79, of Dickson, TN died peacefully and went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday morning November 3, 2019 in the comfort of her home with her family by her side. She will be forever missed.

Dorothy Jane, weighing just two pounds, was born a few days before Christmas in 1939 to Alex Andrew and Ellendar Louise Stringer Odom.  Although her stature was small, her will was always strong.

Dorothy was a hard-working woman. Throughout her life she worked at H.I.S., Pants Factory, Dickson Produce, Garton’s Grocery and retired from A.L.P. Lighting.

Dorothy loved to vacation in Gatlinburg and enjoyed traveling with her sisters to hear gospel music. Her favorite place was home. Home is where the coffee was plentiful, her cats were her company and the yard was always mowed.  Dorothy loved life and loved to laugh and enjoyed a great sense of humor that God had given to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William Baker and her son, James Stokes.

A special thanks for all the love and care that was extended to Dorothy by Mike Lane, Jamie Garton, Tammy Dawson and Dwayne Wilkerson. You all will always be in our hearts and thoughts.

Survivors include her daughter; Melinda Lane and her husband, Mike, her granddaughter; Amanda Berry and her husband, Bryan, her great granddaughter; Carly Berry, her two sisters; Geneva (Debbie) Fortner and Linda Wilkerson. Several nieces and nephews.
