 Cryptside services will be held Monday, December 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.  at the Chapel of Prayer Mausoleum at the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday evening, December 1, 2019 between the hours of 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
  Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Walnut Street Church of Christ,  Dickson County Humane Society, American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.

 John Eleazer (Pat) Martin Sr, age 88, of Dickson, TN, died on November 24, 2019 at Centennial Medical Center.

 Pat, born in Nashville, TN, was the son of the late Claude Lee Martin Sr and Elizabeth Eleazer Martin.  He served in the U S Air Force at which time he fought in the Korean War.  He was a long- time member of the American Legion and the VFW.  Pat was one of the first hourly employees of the Ford Glass Plant which time he left to become a Tennessee State Trooper.  He was then elected Sheriff of Dickson County and served three full terms, the maximum allowed at that time. 

  He enjoyed his pipelining and rodeoing years.  He enjoyed spending his winters in Florida, where he enjoyed golf and made many wonderful friends.  Pat founded Martin Trucking in the early 80’s from which he retired at age 84.

  Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Anita Duke Martin, daughter Debbie Martin Barrett (Terry), Son John E Martin Jr (Darlene). He had 7 Grandchildren, Scott Barrett (Lindsay), Quent Barrett (Christy), Keith Barrett (Andrea), Ryan Martin, Corey Martin, Martha Todosciuk, and Michelle Heaton (Matt).  He also had 14 great grandchildren, whom he loved very much.

 We all loved him and will miss him terribly.
