 Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon, March 15, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Dr. Mike Miller will officiate. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Saturday evening, March 14th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until time of service.

Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Mr. Weatherspoon, age 97, of the Stayton Community, died peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Weatherspoon was born in Hickman County, son of the late Dorsey Elmo (Doss) and Annie Mai Thompson Weatherspoon.  He was a lifetime farmer starting in Hickman County with his father then marrying Claudia Weatherspoon in Buffalo. He moved his family to Dickson County upon his father’s death and continued  and do what he did best, farm the land.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Dickson.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Kate Orgain Weatherspoon and his sister Katherine Rushton.

Survivors include his son, Tim Weatherspoon and his wife, Myra of Stayton; his daughter, Judy Thompson and her husband, Dewey of Stayton;  his sister, Patsy Wynns of Lebanon, TN; his grandchildren, Timna, Bryson, Ronnie, Jennifer, Jamie, Chris and Brandon; six great grandsons and many nephews and nieces.
