 Family and friends are invited to assemble for graveside funeral services at the Dickson Union Cemetery on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Ed White will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday evening June 9, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will be no visitation on Wednesday prior to services.

Those desiring, memorials are suggested to Dickson the First United Methodist Church Christian Life Center.

Roy Louis Shelton, age 90, of Dickson, TN passed away on June 7, 2020 at the Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville following a lengthy illness.

He was born January 9, 1930 in Charlotte, TN to the late George M. and Nora Ervin Shelton.

Mr. Shelton was a retired farmer from the Liberty Community in Charlotte, in addition to being retired from the Ford Glass Plant in Nashville with some 30 1/2 years of service, where he was a member of the Ford UAW. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. A member of the Liberty Methodist Church for many years, he later became a dedicated member of the Dickson First United Methodist Church, where he was an active member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.

His great love of music and church was displayed through his years as a member of the gospel singing group, The Sunshine Quartet and The Gospel Echo’s.

Roy Louis Shelton will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Survivors include his loving wife, Norma Jean Shelton, his brother Troy L. Shelton and his wife Janice of Smyrna, TN, his two step sons,  Richard Arnold and his wife, Terry of Franklin, TN and William Arnold and his wife, Karen of Tampa, FL, his step grandchildren, Caroline Arnold of Dickson, TN, Tripp Arnold of Denver, CO, and John Arnold of Tampa, FL. Special lifetime friends are Kenneth and Brenda Walker of Dickson, TN as well as two godchildren, Ken Walker of Huntsville, Al and Angela Walker Hayes of Hermitage, TN.

These friends and family will serve as Honorary Pallbearers, Danny Fussell, Wesley Foster, David Fussell, Paul Hooper, Kevin Stamper, Ken Walker and Jerry Spann. Also serving will be members of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
