Martha 'Mattie' Luther Tidwell

Funeral services for Mrs. Martha Luther Tidwell, known by family and friends as Mattie, age 82, were conducted Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM from the New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. James Parham and Bro. William Gray officiating. Place of rest is in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Tidwell died Wednesday evening at Baptist Hospital. A native of Dickson County, Mattie was the daughter of the late John Wesley and Dennie Irene Blanton Luther. She worked as a machine operator at the former Henry I. Siegel Manufacturing Co. Her other interests included being a mother and homemaker, gardening, and her church work and duties as a Baptist preacher�s wife. Survivors include Her Husband of 65 years; Rev. John E. Tidwell of Bon Aqua, Her Children; John L. Tidwell and wife Abby of Bon Aqua, Tn, Bobby N. Tidwell and wife, Lucinda of Bon Aqua, Tn and Gayla Tidwell Fisher and husband, James of Bon Aqua,Tn, Her Brother; Mr. Charlie B. Luther of Dickson, Her Sisters; Mrs. Dovie Qualls of Pleasantville, Tn, Linda Griffin and husband, James of Hendersonville, Tn and Louise Bowker and husband, Harold of Charlotte, Tn. Her Four Grandchildren, Stephanie Murphree and husband, Casey, Anthony Fisher and Friend JaLana Kappen, John De Fisher and wife, Lisa, and Jonathan Fisher and wife, Amie, Her Four Step Grandchildren, Jeff Kemp, Tammy Benefield and husband, Marty, Wendy Mc Nutt and husband, Jason, Anthony Hedgepath, Her Great Grandchildren; Aryn Murphree, Jalyn Murphree, Brianna Fisher, Luke Fisher, Jake Fisher, Bryson Fisher, Her Step Great Grandchildren; Bailey Brady, Andrew McNutt, Sam McNutt, Jack McNutt, Lucy Lee Benefield, Her Several nieces and nephews.
