A funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 4, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to the Taylor Funeral Home for Tyree’s Funeral Expenses.

Ulysses “Tyree” Vaughn, age 36 of Clarksville, passed away suddenly on September 28, 2024.

Tyree was born on October 2, 1987, at Goodlark Hospital in Dickson, Tennessee. He was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 28. His life was a testament to his unwavering faith, love for people, and dedication to God. Tyree graduated in 2006 from Creekwood High School in the Dickson County School System. His love for sports led him to be an Assistant Football Coach at Clarksville Northeast High School where he enjoyed mentoring and assisting with coaching duties. He also served as a Manager at Charlotte Middle School. He was currently employed by the Montgomery County School System up until being called home by his creator. Tyree was also employed by The Dickson County Help Center and Thrift Store in Dickson, Tn. for several years.

Tyree spent over 19 years serving as a minister of the gospel and a faithful member of Word of Life Tabernacle Church in Dickson, Tennessee, under the mentorship and leadership of Dr. Cecilia Grimsley. From an early age, Tyree’s devotion to his faith was evident. He was an active member of the church’s youth ministry, media department, leading worship and encouraging others with his passion for the Lord. His journey with the church began in the praise and worship auxiliary youth ministry, he was ordained as a deacon in 2016, and he remained on fire for the Lord throughout his life.

As a youth, Tyree participated in several church and community groups, including the Unity Steppers, The Praise Team (Judah), Men of Standard, and The Peculiar, a community music ministry. He was also actively involved in the Jamming for Jesus Youth Ministry, where his spirit and energy inspired countless lives.

Tyree will always be remembered for his bright smile, his natural ability to connect with others, and his heart for people. He had a special gift for spreading the love and joy of the gospel, touching the lives of many with his kindness and warmth. His heart for service was immense, and his impact will be felt for years to come.

Tyree is survived by his loving parents: Roschelle and Virgil Taylor. His cherished grandmother: Dorothy Vaughn. His brothers: Tavon Taylor, Quinton Vaughn, and Keontae Wilson. His sisters: Trista (Louie) Jones, Tanisha Vaughn, and Keiara Wilson. His aunt:  Roxanne (Edwin) Santana. His uncle’s: Jeffrey (Alicia) Vaughn, Tommy Vaughn, and Andre Vaughn. Nieces: Taja Vaughn, Alexia Jones, and Olivia Vaughn. Nephews: Tylen Vaughn, Taylen Vaughn, Otto Jones. A host of cherished cousins, devoted cousin: Mortrea Vaughn, dedicated family, church family, and friends.

Tyree was preceded in death by his father, Ulysses Wilson. His grandfather, Arlandus Vaughn.  His aunts, Carla Vaughn, Stephanie Vaughn, and Sherry Vaughn.

Tyree’s legacy is one of faith, love, and service. His life, filled with devotion to God and kindness toward others, will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family, friends, and church community.

 

Tyree, rest in love and eternal joy in the presence of the Lord, whom you so faithfully served.
