Mr. Bledsoe peacefully passed away at home on Thursday, January 2, 2014. Willis was born  in Dickson County to the late Aubrey and Norvia Bledsoe on December 8, 1925. Willis spent a portion of his younger years serving in World War II. A member of the U. S. Marine Corps from February 1944 to February 1946, he spent a stent in Okinawa, Japan where he earned a purple heart. After returning from war, he settled in Fairview where he spent the remainder of his life starting and raising a family, working in construction and farming, and touching countless lives along the way. He married his sweetheart, Jean Sullivan on September 4, 1949. In the couples 64 years of marriage, they raised three children; Wanda Welch, Ricky Bledsoe and John Bledsoe and later had seven grandchildren---and all of them think he hung the moon. A hard working family man and Deacon of the the New Hope Baptist Church in Bon Aqua, Tn, Willis will be most remembered for his optimism, playful personality, and witty sayings. A reliable source of encouragement for his family and friends he had a special way of making others believe in themselves----a trait he shared with  many of his siblings. Will was preceded in death by his brothers; Hooper Bledsoe, Harlon Bledsoe, and Delmer Bledsoe; sisters, Gladys Dedmon, Beatrice Spencer, and Grace Tidwell; and daughter in law, Donna Bledsoe.

His is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean, Children, Wanda (Mike) Welch, Ricky Bledsoe, and John (Lisa) Bledsoe, Seven Grandchildren; Brian (Erin) Welch, David Welch, Kori Bledsoe, Ryan Bledsoe, Drew Bledsoe, Stephen Bledsoe, and Jonathan Bledsoe; Brothers, Harvey Bledsoe, Douglas Bledsoe and Henry Bledsoe; and sister, Aladee Tidwell Brown.
