 Funeral services for Mrs. Sammie Jean Miller Kreitzer, age 85 of White Bluff will be Wednesday Feb. 19,, 2014 at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Thomas Southerland officiating. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday Feb. 18th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Wednesday from 11:00 AM until time of service. Those desiring memorials may be made to the Eastside Church of Christ, Horizon Medical Center Volunteer Scholarship Fund or the Olive Branch Assisted Living. Services are under the direction of the Taylor Funeral Home.
 
Mrs. Kreitzer died Saturday February 15, 2014 at Horizon Medical Center. She was the daughter of the late Charlie E. and Alene Larkins Miller and was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Don R. Kreitzer and sister, Anne Miller. Sammie was born on June 8, 1928. She attended Acorn Hill Elementary, White Bluff Elementary, and Dickson High School from which she graduated in 1947. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics from Austin Peay State University. After graduation, she went to Lewisburg, Ohio to teach. It was there that she met her husband Don Kreitzer. Upon moving to White Bluff in 1957, she was employed by the Dickson County School System. She taught at William James High School, Dickson High School and Dickson Jr. High. She retired in 1989, but substitute taught for several years at Dickson County High School. After retirement she became a volunteer at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. She was a fun loving and faithful Christian. She was a member of the Eastside Church of Christ and a former member of Walnut St. Church of Christ.
 
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Kreitzer Williams (Buddy) of Burns; two grandchildren, Lindsey Williams of Burns, Seth Williams of Nashville; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Miller of Dickson, Fran Miller Curl of Burns; beloved in-laws, Gene Kreitzer, Helen and John Allen, Debbie and Dean Kreitzer, Roland and Marie Sheiding and many caring nieces and nephews.
