Mrs. Edith Jane Ladd Craft, age 86 of Dickson passed away Friday afternoon, March 8, 2013 at Summit Hospital in Hermitage, TN. Funeral services for Edith Jane Ladd Craft were conducted Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Keele officiating. Place of rest is in the Dickson Union Cemetery. She was born January 23, 1927. She was the daughter of the late James Roy Ladd and Sue Larkins Ladd Saeger. Born in Burns, Tennessee , she went to work the day after graduation in 1945 and continued working for over 43 years with the State of Tennessee Division of Forestry in Dickson County---one of the longest employed individuals with the Division of Forestry; receiving recognition from Governor of Tennessee McWherter. After retirement she and her husband spent countless hours working in their garden (giving away more than they actually canned) and vacationing across the country; especially fond of the time they spent in Orlando, Clearwater, Gulf Shores and Myrtle Beach with all of their family. In her later years Edith Jane spent most of her time with her children, grandchildren, reading and watching Golf and the Weather Channel. Edith Jane was truly an individualist, an independent person that believed the utmost in honesty, integrity, hard work and the commitment to follow through with what you say you will do. She believed in attention to detail, no matter how small the task; from thank you notes to donations to charities and organizations. A special thank you to Misty Tummins, Diana Patterson, Irene Grimes, Bobby Duke, Ricky Woods and the Dickson Apothecary for their care, assistance and willingness to give their time to help at a moments notice----Thank you. Survivors include Her Son and Daughter in law; Edwin and Kristy Craft of Old Hickory, Tennessee and her two grandchildren; Nick Craft and Caitlyn Craft both of Old Hickory, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Charles E. Craft (2001 ) and her brother; Edward Clay Ladd (2004).
