 Funeral services for Mr. Charlie Edgar Meek, age 84 of Burns were held Sunday, January 18, 2015 at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Charlie Edgar Meek II and Dean Morgan officiating. Place of rest is in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Meek died Thursday January 15, 2015 at Horizon Medical Center. A native of Dickson County, he was the son of the late Willie and Minnie Sanker Meek and was preceded in death by his wife, Farris Irene Brown Meek and his sister, Agnes Burch Cauthen. Edgar was a U.S. Army veteran where he was a member of the Army Corp of Engineers Battalion for 3 years. He was a member and the Chaplain for the American Legion. Edgar was the former President and longtime member of the Dickson County Fair Board. He had worked as a former Feed Salesman for the Moor Mans Feed Company. Edgar was the former Manager of the Ridgelea Farms and was the owner and operator of WEHDO farms. He was a longtime Meat Processor and was in the Saw Mill business. He was a member of Jackson Temple Church of Christ.

Survivors include his children, Leta June Meek (Lee Jones) of Burns, Martha Nell Morgan of Dickson, Charlie Edgar Meek II (Judy) of Florence, AL, George Thomas Meek (Kim) of Burns; brother, Johnny Meek (Lila) of Dickson; Sister, Louise Hayes (Buzz) of Dickson; 6 grandchildren, Dean Morgan (Jodie), Kimberly Ann Morgan, Calli Jo Bain (Clint), Trevor Bronc Smithson, Joseph Edgar Meek (Yvonne), MaryFarris Brown Meek; 2 great grandchildren, Samantha Dean Morgan, Clint James Morgan; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
