 Funeral services for Mr. Roy Lester McLaughlin, age 60 of Dickson were held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Dan Wade & Bro. Jeff Keele officiating. Place of rest is in the McLaughlin Cemetery.

Roy, a retired heating and air conditioning technician, was suddenly called home on December 31, 2014. Born December 29, 1954 in Nashville, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Dennis and Lorene McLaughlin. Also preceding him in death were grandparents, Rufus and Annie McLaughlin and parents-in-law, James “Ted” and Annie Christine Staggs. Roy was a proud veteran of The United States Army. He was also a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans as well as a member of the American Legion. Roy was a member of the Brown’s Chapel Church of Christ.

Survivors include his loving wife, Brenda Sue Staggs McLaughlin and children, James David McLaughlin (Tonya) of Tennessee City, TN; Roy Lukas McLaughlin of Dickson, TN; Amy Christine McLaughlin Gill (Brian) of Lyles, TN; grandchildren, Dylan McLaughlin; Paige McLaughlin; Hailey Barnes; Hannah Barnes; Ethan Barnes; Logan McLaughlin; William McLaughlin; and Haley Gill; brothers, Wayne McLaughlin (Deb); Donnie McLaughlin (Wanda); Ray McLaughlin (Denise); Chuck Swann (Tina); sister, Darlene Trapp (Ricky King); and step-father, Jerry Redden. Honorary pall bearers are son-in-law, grandchildren, and brother’s-in-law.
