James Roy "Jimmy" Johnson, age 68 of Dickson, died on June 13, 2015.  Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 from 2pm until 8pm and on Tuesday from 12noon until the time of service.  A funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2pm with Bro. Clark Brown & Kenny Brown officiating.  Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.  For those desiring, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Mr. Johnson was born March 2, 1947 in Nashville, TN.  He was a Son of the late Roy Black Johnson and the late Edna Inman Johnson.  He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.  Jimmy was a part of law enforcement from the '70s until retirement in 2009 having served as a Police Officer and a Sheriff's Deputy.  He was the first canine handler in Dickson County for the Dickson Police Department.  He started the TN Right to Life in Dickson County.  He started Child Evangelism Fellowship in Dickson County for our Elementary Schools.  He was the first Chaplain at the White Bluff Police Dept.  He retired from the Dickson County Sherrif's Dept. as a Training Sgt.  Jimmy could be described as a pioneer and a warrier who was best known as a bold yet loving witness in his faith in Christ. 

Survivors include his Wife, Shelia Kimbro Johnson of Dickson, TN; Daughters, Alina (Dan) Hicks of Charlotte, TN, and Tiffany Gilmer of Dickson, TN; Sons, Michael (Paulette) Camp of Adams, TN, and Michael (Christine) Gilmer of Ft. Drum, Jefferson County, NY; 6 Grandchildren, Evan Camp, McClain Camp, DJ Nichols, Davett Nichols, Bryan Gilmer, Steven Gilmer.
