Haley, age 22, of Charlotte TN and Florida, died suddenly Monday, August 17, 2015 in Florida from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Nashville, TN and lived her life here in Dickson County. She is the daughter of Dale and Shauna Simons Murphy. She was a Creekwood High School graduate where she was active in school life with softball and golf, and received her B.S. in Social Work and minored in Psychology from Austin Peay University. Haley worked at Girl's Inc. of Jacksonville, FL , a nonprofit organization to empower women to be strong and bold. Haley loved life to its fullest and enjoyed her family and friends. She was a beautiful 22 year old girl who never met a stranger. She had  an abundance of selfless qualities. She could play any sport you throw at her and do it well. Haley often made friends from the opposing team and would talk with them while participating in sports. She could become best friends with you after just talking with you for a few minutes. She had a way of making people feel comfortable and they could trust her with anything. Haley always wanted to treat others the way she wanted to be treated and with that being said she accepted everyone and never judged a soul.  She lived life to the fullest and without fear. She always has been special and unique. We, her family, always said " there is no one like Haley, she beats to her own drum." She always greeted others with her bright smile from the time she was in preschool to her last stop on the road. She excelled in school too and had wonderful writing skills. Haley went to college her freshmen year at TTU where she originally wanted to teach special education. She made lifelong friends at TTU and just as many memories, however Haley then decided to finish out her college career at APSU where she made even more life long friends from her social work classes, outings, and working at the YMCA. She impacted  more people than most people even know. Haley lived with a caring and loving heart for all. Regardless of age she could always find a common ground. Haley had a way of making everyone feel like family. Even though her life here on earth has ended she had just begun an unimaginable everlasting one in heaven and will live in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
Survivors include her Parents; Dale and Shauna Murphy of Charlotte,TN, her twin sister, Hannah McConnell and her husband, Dalton of Florida, her grandparents; Phil and Nancy Simons of Jacksonville, FL and Edsel and Elaine Brown of Dickson,TN. Several aunts, uncles, cousins and lots of dear friends. Haley is the granddaughter of the late Terry Murphy.
