   Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning, September 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. from the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation with her family will be Sunday evening, September, 13th from 4:00 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Place of rest will be in the Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
   "Miss Mary" age 86, of Burns,TN died peacefully September 10, 2015 at NHC of Dickson.
   She was born in Maury County, and was the daughter of the late Herman Ethridge and Ethel Cathey Warren. She was the widow of the late Melvin Whitaker and the Mother of the late Mark Whitaker.  Miss Mary was a retired secretary with the Stuart-Burns Elemetery School, working there from 1968 until 2003. Her heart was always at the Burns school where she was a friend to all the children. She always had a smile and hug to give them. She was a jokester, loving to pull a prank for fun and  always had a colorful joke to share and was always willing to receive one. Loved to laugh and got milage out of life in general. A sports enthusiast she was....involving herself with the University of Tennessee Sports where her blood ran orange.  Miss Mary loved  the Atanta Braves Baseball, enjoying every game she could possibly get to see and watch. And last but not least, her fishing stories...Miss Mary was an avid fisherman, who loved the out of doors and waiting for the next big fish to bite. Lover of life and all that was there to grab and enjoy. She was a longtime member of the Burns United Methodist Church.
   She is survived by her grandchildren; Josh Whitaker and his wife, Janet of Nashville,TN and Lyndsey Whitaker of Dickson,TN, her two great grandchildren; Anna Whitaker and Benjamin Mark Whitaker, her daughter in law; Lori Whitaker of Dickson,TN, her twin sister; Martha Derryberry and her husband, John of Spring Hill,TN. her other two sisters; Rachel Bond of Franklin,TN and Jane Reynolds and her husband, Royce of North Carolina. Several nieces and nephews.
