Anna Elizabeth Garton, age 82 of Lebanon, formerly of Dickson died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Lebanon Health and Rehab. She requested to be cremated and no formal services are currently planned. Her ashes will be placed with her late husband at the Martin-Garton Cemetery. For those desiring, memorials are suggested to Dickson First United Methodist Church.
Born in Landshut, Germany, Anna was the daughter of the late Georg and Philippine Koberger Eiglmaier. She was married to Carl Ellet Garton who predeceased her in 1984. Ms. Anna, a homemaker was known as the “Hug Bug” lady at Dickson First United Methodist Church. In her ministry there she dispensed hugs of encouragement and love and was faithful to hand out cards or mail greeting cards to fellow members. Because of her love for children, she also worked there in Christian child care and development.
Survivors include her sons, James Paul Garton (Amy), Lebanon, Carl Phillip Morgan (Vanessa), Waverly, and Jonathan Garton (Christy), Charlotte; brother, Rupert Eiglmaier, Germany; sister, Philippine Fisher, Germany; and five grandchildren.
