Funeral services for Loyd Edward “Red” Cantrell, age 61 of Dickson, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jesse Perry officiating. Interment will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
Mr. Cantrell died Saturday at Centennial Medical Center, Nashville.
Born in Davidson County, “Red” was the son of the late James Loyd and Gladys Phillips Cantrell. He was married to Betty Sue Leaster Cantrell who predeceased him in 2014. “Red” has been disabled for several years, but he formerly worked as a laborer in manufacturing operations, most recently in a fertilizer facility. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia; four brothers, five sisters, two grandchildren, and by a great-grandchild.
His survivors include three children, Lisa Leaster, Jennifer Colon (Jorge), and Thomas Cantrell (Ginger), all of Dickson; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Debbie Perry (Jesse), Charlotte, Shirley Sensing, Lyles, and Sarah Coon (Gerald), Portland, TN.
