A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017 beginning at 12 pm. Funeral Services will be conducted at 4pm on Sunday from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Beecham and LCDR Jeremy James officiating.
Peggy Katherine Hafner – Age 70 of Burns passed away on April 27, 2017.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Lee Hafner; sister, Thelma Murtha and brother, Leo Hamm; parents, Christopher and Elizabeth Jackson Hamm.
Mrs. Hafner is survived by her siblings, Sandra Hicks of Hohenwald; Ginger Propes of New Johnsonville, Audrey Gaddes of Dickson, Roger “Bo” Hamm (Sandra) of White Bluff and Karen Lackey (Phillip) of Burns; sister-in-law, Kerri Hamm and beloved aunt, Thelma Frances Smith of Van Leer; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Peggy was the oldest of 8 children. She was known as the “Mother Hen”, not just for being the oldest, but because she helped raise her 7 siblings. Even after becoming adults she would still want to know where they were and make sure they were safe.
Although, she and Daniel had no children, her mothering instincts were well known to all her nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. They had such special bonds when they were all so young.
