A funeral service for Sarah Mai Thorne DeMoss Doss, age 84 of Dickson, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Clark Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Hurricane Mills. Her family will receive friends on Monday, July 31st from 4 until 8 p.m.
Mrs. Doss died Saturday morning, July 29, 2017 at her home. Born in Waverly, Sarah was the daughter of the late Dewey and Loney B. Baker Thorne. A homemaker, she was predeceased by her husbands, James W. DeMoss and Thomas Doss. She was also preceded by children, Jimmy DeMoss and Mary DeMoss and by siblings, Arthur Thorne, William Thorne, and Jean Jackson.
Survivors include her children, Lisa DeMoss of Dickson, TN, Sandra DeMoss of Nunnelly, TN, Barbara Hicks, Shelia DeMoss and Larry DeMoss all of Waverly, TN; sisters, Betty Longmire, Wilma Lewinter, Wanda Cleveland and Joyce Blackwell all of Waverly, TN, Dorothy Burleson of Columbia, TN, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
