    Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon, December 31, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. George Caudill and Bro. Thomas Southerland officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening, December 30th from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  Place of rest will be in the Miller Family Plot in the Dickson Union Cemetery.
    Miss Mary Miller, age 92, passed this life into her heavenly home on December 26, 2016 at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville after a short stay.
   Those desiring, Memorials are suggested to Olive Branch Assisted Living or to the Dickson County Library.
   Miss Mary, affectionately known as Dizzy was born Janurary 12, 1924 to the late Charlie and Alene Larkins Miller.  She was an active member of the Walnut Street Church of Christ, an avid reader and sender of many many cards. She was the Larkins/Miller historian. She authored several family books and story books. Her hand writing was perfection.  
   Miss Miller was an exceptional educator. She attended Acorn Hill School, graduated from William James High School. She earned her BS degree from George Peabody College, her Masters degree from Austin Peay and 30 hours from George Peabody College toward her doctorate.
   Her first four teaching years she taught at White Bluff Elementary where she walked from home, four miles and back each day. After four years she bought a car and taught at Burns Elementary School for  eight years. She then taught at Nashville Metro Schools as a teacher and teacher coordinator. She retired in 1988.  Continuing her love of education she supervised many students teachers from Austin Peay State University for 12 years.
   She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Alene Miller; her sisters, Sammie Kreitzer and Ann Miller; her brother- in- law, Don Kreitzer; her great niece, Lindsey Williams Bowker.
   Survivors include her sister, Fran Miller Curl of Burns,TN; niece, Teresa Kreitzer Williams and her husband Buddy of Burns,TN; her nephew, Jim Curl and his wife Brenda of Charlotte,NC; her great nephews, Seth Williams (Meg) of Nashville,TN and Mikey Bowker of Nashville,TN, Zack Curl of Charlotte, NC and Brad Curl of Columbia, SC.
