      Funeral services for Joe Herbert England, age 84 of White Bluff will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday from 2 until 8 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Middle Tennessee Veterans’ Cemetery near Pegram for interment service and military honors at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017. Mr. England died Friday at the Skyline Campus of Alive Hospice.

      Born in Dickson County, Mr. England was the son of the late Herbert Montgomery and Ceveale Johnston England. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was held captive as a prisoner of war (POW). Although he had a service-connected disability, he was privileged to own and operate a fishing tackle/bait shop. He loved his family and was proud of his military service and his status as a surviving POW.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Mike England; a brother, Gene England; and by a sister, Jewell Robinson.

      Survivors include his children, Connie Forshay (Mickey), Dickson, Shayne England (Kim), White Bluff, and Jimmy England (Tammy), Thaxton, MS; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
