Norma Catherine Bybee, age 88 of Dickson, TN died on Monday, March 19, 2018.  A memorial service will be on April 7, 2018 at 2pm at the United Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. James Carrington officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1pm until the time of service.

Mrs. Bybee was born on March 10, 1930 in Ethridge, TN.  She was a daughter of the late Oliver Cranford (O.C.) Rushing and Myrtle Francis Haynes Rushing.  Norma, the oldest of 8 children, was a preacher’s kid and a preacher’s wife.  She was a life long member of the Nazarene Church, where she played piano and organ, and taught adult Sunday school classes.  Outside of her Church service, she taught accordion, and was an excellent cook.  Mrs. Bybee was a very kind, gentle, and graceful lady.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jay C. Bybee; her son, Greg Bybee; her sister, Nancy Rushing Bearden. 

Mrs. Bybee is survived by her daughter, Beverly Bybee Johnson (Kevin) of Dickson, TN; daughter-in-law, Faith Elliott Bybee of Dickson, TN; sisters, Rachel Archer of Mt. Vernon, OH, Justine Knight of Oklahoma City, OK, Ruby Barber of Hermitage, TN, Edna Westmoreland of Oklahoma City, OK; brothers, Oliver Rushing of Dallas, TX, and Dorsey Rushing of Pearland, TX; her grandchildren, Jayson Bybee, April Bybee Tummins, Catherine Bybee Holloway, Natalie Johnson, John Bybee, Michael Bybee; several Great Grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
