Mr. Hall, age 87, of Cumberland Furnace, TN died May 6, 2019, at his home.
He was born in Coal Good, Kentucky and was the son of the late Charles Edward and Anna Lee Hogwood Hall. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Priscilla.
Professionally, he was an over the road truck driver.
He and his wife loved their community. They lived in the Historic Hand House in Cumberland Furnace. He was involved in forming the Cumberland Furnace Community Center, and they took such pride in maintaining the Cumberland Furnace Cemetery. Don and wife Peggy loved antiques and collectibles. Peggy said that Don was her best bad habit and her favorite antique. Don proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict in the United States Army.
Mr. Hall was a member of the Cumberland Furnace United Methodist Church where he formerly taught Sunday School.
One of his greatest pleasures was pushing someone buttons to bring out the worst or the best in them.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Peggy Hall of Cumberland Furnace, TN; his children, Scott A. Hall (Tammy) of Clarksville, TN, Rose Anna Hall of Cumberland Furnace, TN, David A. Hall of China Grove N.C., and Donald R. Hall (Amy) of Murfreesboro, TN; his 8 grandchildren, his 10 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Franklin D. Hall of Pineville, KY, and his sister, Anna Hall Strickland of Alabama.
