 Family and friends will gather for  graveside services on Monday afternoon, August 26, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Dickson County Memorial Gardens with Steve Baggett and Dr. Bryan McAlister officiating.  Visitation will be held at the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon, August 25, 2019 from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. and on Monday beginning 12:00 noon until 1:30 p.m.

 Those desiring, memorials are suggested to the Walnut Street Church of Christ Building Fund.

 Jane peacefully passed from this life on August 23, 2019 after a lengthy illness.

 Jane was born on April 15, 1924, in Dickson, Tennessee to Hugh Neil Reeves and Lina Hassell Donegan Reeves.  She was a member of the 1942 class of Dickson High School where she proudly served as a majorette in the Dickson High School Band.   She was a graduate of Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.  After college she worked for the National Life and Casualty Insurance Company, before marrying the love of her life, Carney B. Nicks, who preceded her in death in 2003.  She would later work for the University of Tennessee Extension Office in Dickson.  Most of her life was spent as a devoted wife and loving Mother to her two sons, who were the pride of her life.

 Jane is survived by two sons, Tommy Nicks and wife, Judy Ann of Dickson, Tennessee and Bill Nicks and wife, BettyBelle of Nashville, Tennessee.  Four grandchildren, Patrick Nicks and wife Amanda of Dickson, Tennessee, Katy Chick and husband, Tim of Nashville, Tennessee, Courtney Williams and husband, Mike of Nashville, Tennessee and William R. Nicks of Nashville, Tn.  She is also survived by her sister, Sue Breeden of Leesburg, Florida and eight great-grand- children, Ellie Jane Nicks, John Carney Nicks, Maggie Kate Nicks, Clay Thomas Chick, Natalie Nicks Chick, Wesley Neil Chick, Eden Williams and Hannah Williams and several nieces and nephews.

 The family would like to express their thanks to the nurses and staff at NHC in Dickson, Tennessee and the staff of Olive Branch Assisted Living for their many years of love and comfort provided to her.
