Thomas Warren Gant, known by all as Bubba, age 52, entered into Heaven to be with his loved ones Monday evening, December 16, 2019, at 8:51 p.m.

Bubba was born in Dickson County, son of the late Joy Gafford Robeson and his step-father Wesley Robeson and Jody Gant. He attended Houston County High School and class of 1987 graduate.  Bubba owned Gant Construction, LLC and attended the Erin Church of the Nazarene. Also preceded in death by his sister, Janie Cathey.

Bubba was a good man, an honest man, and a bold and unafraid man.  He was a family man and a good provider with a strong work ethic; he was never afraid of hard work.  Bubba would lay down his life and all for his family and is an example to aspire to.  The raising of his kids always came first.   He formerly coached junior pro football and his girls’ basketball teams, both at home and on the court.  Bubba lived his life as though every moment has a purpose.  He was a brave, caring man and was passionate at all that he did.  Bubba was the type of guy that would tell you what you needed to hear and not what you wanted to hear.  One of his many gifts from God was the gift of him taking your hand, looking you in the eye, and making you feel like you were someone special.  It was often said, “Bubba could make the ugliest girl feel like she was a beauty queen.”  Bubba was a horrible driver and would ride with you anywhere only because everyone else was scared to ride with him.  Bubba was a horseman and loved every minute he spent with them, on the trails or in the corral.

There are several of Bubba’s most famous quotes or “Bubbaisms” that the family would like to share with you.  At the beginning of his obit, it was posted “There is No Can’t in Gant.” This is something that he always taught his kids.  A couple more, “One cannot ever receive if you have your hand clinched” and  “If you believe what you say you are, why would you deny anybody the chance to wake up in heaven.”  He would often tease his family with the quote, “I’m the one man you don’t tell what to do!”

Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Katrina (Kacey) Kilgore Gant; his children, Lindsey Dawson and husband, Matt, Deven Gant, Warren Gant, Josey Gant, and Isabella Gant. His grandson, Ryan Dawson; his brothers and sisters, Nikki Shultz (Brian), Wesley Robeson (Jessica), O.J. Haley (Ritchie), Puddin Smith (Mike), Billy Gant (Kristian), Wanda Smith (Carl), Ralph Hall, Sassy Howell, P-Nut Harmon (Bill), Butchie Frank Hall, B.J. Gafford (Debbie), Robert Gant, Sue Gant Glass, Jana  Gant Russell, numerous nieces and nephews, and endless friends.
