Visitation will be Saturday January 18th from 1 PM until time of service. Those desiring memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Curtis Melton Floyd was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved with his family to Dickson, TN in 1989. He is a graduate of Dickson County High School.
He was a plumber by trade, Christian by faith, and Experiencer by nature. Curtis enjoyed Deep Sea Fishing, Sky Diving, Hang Gliding, Canoeing, Hunting and Cooking, (especially Cajun food). His specialty was Red Beans and Rice and Gumbo. The yearly crawfish boils with his brother (Craig) and his father, (Chris) were standout celebration for our family and friends. Each one had a special amount of ingredient that they contributed to the flavor of the boil. He was passionate about being present in his family’s life everyday. Laura was the love of his life. He fell in love with her and her two boys, Tyler and Caleb her sons that quickly became his sons. When Anna and McKenna came along, Curtis was on cloud nine and has cherished every moment he had with them. His family was complete and his heart was full of joy. Curtis has many life-long friends that were very important to him. He always enjoyed reminiscing the good ole days with them and talking about what was happening in their lives. His kind spirit was always ready to lend a helping hand or just listen if needed. Curtis was such a bright light in the lives of everyone that knew him. To say he will be missed is such an understatement, but the LOVE we have in our hearts for this special soul will help sustain us until we are with him once again.
Curtis died peacefully at his home Tuesday January 14, 2020 at the age of 41 surrounded by this loving family after a short battle with cancer.
He is survived by his loving wife; Laura, his sons; Tyler & Caleb, his daughters; Annabelle and McKenna, his mother; Carol Van Dalen Floyd, his grandmother; Patricia Floyd; his father–in-Law and step mother-in-law; Randy and Jennifer Amrhein, his brother; Craig Floyd (Stacia), his sister; Mandy Travis (Chris), his niece; Edyn Travis, his nephews; Collin Floyd, Cole Floyd, Calen Travis and Dalen Travis; and a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Curtis is preceded in death by his grandparents; Leroy Floyd and Mary Floyd, his father; Chris Floyd and his mother-in-law; Phyllis Moore.
