Sara, age 72 of White Bluff, TN died peacefully at her home April 20, 2020.

Sara, also known as Nanny, Sally, Sally Sue and Sara Sue, was a lifelong Dickson Countian, daughter of the late Ruthie McClelland. She was preceded in death by her grandchildren, Buck Dawson, Luke Dawson, Tamra Choate and Kaylee Choate.  Sara was a retired caregiver, CNA, for over 30 years. Later working with families in the homes to care for their loved ones.  She has a kind and giving heart and was willing to share it with many. She was a faithful member of the Crossroads Church of God of Prophecy.

Sara was a unique, one-of-a-kind, flamboyant, strong and determined, loud, full of fun and laughter, loving, always looking out for those in need, caring and demanding. She loved spending time watching John Wayne, she loved her little pup Missy, along with her chickens and fishing. Sara had an amazing memory and never met a stranger and if she did, you weren’t strangers long. She also knew she had the best cornbread dressing, potato salad and chocolate gravy recipes this side of heaven.

Always sharing her love of the Lord and hoping that others would lean on Jesus like she had learned to do over the years.  Her greatest worry was wondering who would love and care for her children and grandchildren after she was gone.

Her step from earthly to eternal was magnificent, complete with everything she’d ever dreamed of, we have no doubt. Walk on the streets of glory now Sara, Sally, Sally Sue and Nanny…until we meet, you are cherished, loved, honored and missed dearly.

She is survived by  her lifelong sweetheart, Raymond Choate, her two children, Kenneth Ray Choate and his wife, Cisi, her daughter, Genevia Sue Graham and her husband, Bob, her sister, Linda Cathey, her grandchildren, Gregory Choate, Zachary Ray Choate, Brantly Wade Choate, Sara Grace Choate, Abigail McNish, Tyler Choate and Conner Choate, 13 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews
