 Funeral services for Charles Douglas “Charlie” Mangrum, age 78 of Burns, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2020 from the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Bro. Nathan Wilkerson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Parker-Fowlkes Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.  Mr. Mangrum died Thursday, June 18, 2020 at his home.

Born in Nashville, Tennessee he was the son of the late Henry Whitfield Mangrum and the late Mera Davidson Mangrum.  He is preceded in death by his wife and best friend of 46 years, Linda Baker Mangrum.  Charlie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.  He loved the Lord and was a member of Burns Baptist Church. 

Charlie spent 40 years as an automotive painter; he enjoyed being outdoors, traveling to gospel music festivals, and spending time with his family.  He never turned down 3 or 2 scoops of ice cream.

Survivors include children, Charles Andrew Mangrum, Regina (Thomas) Forsythe, John Whitfield Mangrum, Selina (Ron) Parish, and Charlene (Todd) Busta; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; his brother, sisters, nephews, and nieces.
