 A funeral service will take place on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home with Military Honors observed. Bro. Bob Thomas will officiate. A private interment will take place at the Middle TN State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Water Street Church of Christ Missions, Caris Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.

George Mangrum, aged 80, passed away peacefully at Vanderbilt University Medical Center on Saturday, August 8th, 2020.

A native of Dickson county, George retired from the US Navy, a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a master electrician, a good neighbor, and an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and high school football. He loved bluegrass music, dancing, and getting into mischief.

He is predeceased by his mother Hannah and father (Owen) Dick Mangrum, his sister Betty-Jo, and brother Vernon.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years Roberta (Nicks), daughter Toni Hampton (Roger), sons David Mangrum (Kathy) and Daniel Mangrum (Jennifer), seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers Hadley Mangrum, Roosevelt Mangrum, and Thomas Mangrum, and sisters Joan Myatt, Doris Mangrum and Elvania Henderson.
